International Volunteers Day

Dear WorldSkills Supporter,

This Sunday, the 5th of December, has been declared by the United Nations as International Volunteers Day and the Board and Staff of WorldSkills Australia (WSA) would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank everyone around Australia who regularly volunteer their time for WSA.

As an organisation, we are extremely reliant on ‘volunteerism’ for the ongoing success of our programs. From Regional Committee members right through to International Chief Experts, WSA estimates that we have close to 3,500 volunteers involved in our programs annually. Without the WSA ‘family’ of volunteers being involved throughout the history of WSA, close to 70,000 young Australians would not have had the opportunity to test themselves and to increase both their professional and personal skills.

Again, thank you all and we look forward to continuing to work together to contribute to sustainable economic prosperity through the development, recognition and promotion of excellence in skills.
