Invitation to the Official Opening
WorldSkills Australia Global Skills Challenge
Dear ,
On behalf of WorldSkills Australia and NSW TAFE – Illawarra Institute, Wollongong Campus, I would like to formally extend an invitation to you to attend the official opening of the WorldSkills Australia Global Skills Challenge in Wollongong, NSW on Tuesday 5 July 2011.
The WorldSkills Australia Skillaroos represent the ‘best of the best’ in Australia who can be held up as examples to all Australians of what can be achieved in a trade or skills based career. By using the Skillaroos as role models, WorldSkills Australia, with the support of Government and industry will continue to raise the status, awareness and profile of the opportunities available through a VET pathway.
The Global Skills Challenge is an important event in the preparation and training for the 41st WorldSkills International competition being held in London in October this year. The 4 day event will replicate, as closely as possible, the conditions that will be experienced by Team Australia in London and provide the Skillaroos with a valuable opportunity to gather as a team, as well as to hone their skills against competitors from the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, USA, New Zealand, Jamaica, Singapore, France, Vietnam and Japan.
