Dear Friend,
Farmers Wanted!
As reported on Channel 7’s Sunrise program this morning, Sunbeam Foods has partnered with Rural Skills Australia, an educational arm of the National Farmers Federation. Sunbeam is putting money and marketing into a program which offers incentives to farmers and young people to take up apprenticeships on the land.
The scheme called the Sunbeam Future Farmers Fund will match farmers to young Australians who want to do full, part-time or school based apprenticeship in production horticulture.
Farmer Alan Long appeared on Sunrise today saying this is what young people can look forward to: "It's a great lifestyle. You can be your own boss, running own property. Mix and match your hours. There's good hard work and good relaxing work as well."
