Dear subscriber,

This month I am focusing on paying attention to your insides! Specifically I mean paying attention to your body intuition, your body signals - what is it trying to say to you? What are you hearing? What are you ignoring?

Your gut feelings, your body feelings and signals are the pathway to trusting yourself to do what is right for you and your health. We all have them and there’s an activity in this newsletter to get you connected again.

We know instinctively what our body needs to nourish it physically, emotionally and spiritually but sometimes our brain, our logic or even our taste buds override what we know at an intuitive level is needed.

The first 3 Principles of Effective Eating

Following a natural eating lifestyle means reminding yourself of the principles and the ways of thinking that support you to follow your body intuition.

If you have completed the Diet No More course then you’ll remember that we need to replace ineffective dieting rules and food restrictions with the 6 Principles of Effective Eating.

Connect to your Body Intuition right now

Close your eyes and take a moment to connect with your intuition (your higher self, God or the Universe). When you sense that your connection is made ask your body this question:

What is the one thing you want me to know/to do today?
I just did this exercise and my body told me I need to eat some fruit – specifically an orange – so I had it with my dinner.

Then follow your message and know that you are in alignment with yourself, enjoy the feeling of being connected and knowing that all you need to know is right there inside you. Practice every morning when you wake up – it only takes 10 seconds!

It is amazing and enlightening. See what well known authors, physicians, coaches and health practitioners are saying about tapping. It explains tapping and will truly excite you to know that you really can heal yourself.

Thank you to those people who gave me feedback on my newest video on Energy Psychology (called tapping or EFT) and I have some questions I want to answer.

How long do I tap for?

It can vary greatly depending on the issue you are working on. Ideally you would tap until your rating on the problem went down to 0/10. However, because there can be a lot of aspects to one issue this isn’t always possible in one sitting. My suggestion is to spend at least 10 minutes or until you begin to get a sense of relief or lessening of your self rating /10. Then come back to it again the next day or next session.

Is it supposed to be focused on the negative?

Yes it is. This process requires you to bring “online” the anxieties you want relief from. Then the tapping helps to release the energy around the anxiety or fear. It’s like doing acupuncture on yourself but you must have the issue in mind – be “tuned in” while you do that. In a coming session I will show you how to install positive thoughts and feelings at the same time as releasing the unwanted feelings.

What if I feel worse after doing the tapping?
Won’t thinking about my anxieties make them worse?

Ideally your self rating will begin to come down after a few rounds of tapping. It can  go up first because you are tuning in to something that perhaps causes you worry or fear. That is why I suggest, especially when working on your own, that you start with something that isn’t too high on your list of worries. Having an experienced EFT Practitioner there to help and guide you is essential for more serious issues. If you stop and find it has gone up then keep tapping for another 3-5 rounds and assess again.

On my video I start with “Even though I feel like a failure” in relation to weight issues - one viewer commented that this opened a can of worms for her reminding her of so many things in her life that connected to this statement and therefore her level went right up after only a few rounds of tapping.
